Be water my friend

Said great pioneer of Martial Arts in the mainstream- Bruce Lee. What he tried to convey was the importance of being eclectic and flexible, the importance of not limiting yourself by adhering to one particular style or school of thought. He knew that the moment you start identifying with rigid set of rules or norms, you simply stop growing and improving.

As a coach or a player you are challenged with temptation to place a "label" on yourself which would automatically send the message to the world that you are a part of this "special" group. As a bonus you get to call this new type of training "The System" and voila, you are on your way to stardom....or are you?

Perhaps this need for representing a rigid, defined and limited system is just an indication of the lack of creative ability. Quite possibly you crave the safety of "the road well travelled". The elegant technical Coerver training, the geometric, repetitive Peter Schreiner System ( PSS) or ever fun and competitive world of Horst Wein soccer development are some of the elements of soccer training and just like pieces of the puzzle, together they can create amazing pictures of unique and personal training style.

Don't be afraid to be creative! Open your mind and start shaping your very own path to success, because your passion for the sport is the only thing you really need.
