Incorporating new fundamentals to the shot put throw can be difficult especially if it is done in the middle of the season.  Knowing that I was taking a risk to start learning something new I made the decision to go ahead and prepare myself to move up to the next level.  With my natural strength I have the capability of throwing 55-58ft.  In order for me to get to the level that I want to be, I know that technique plays a key role in doing so. As the season has progressed, I have not had a meet that I have been able to go to since mid April.  This can also be frustrating knowing that a certain mark needs to be hit in order to qualify for nationals and not having as many opportunities to compete so that I may be able to hit it.  My next meet will not be until June 7th and I am excited to finally compete again but it also puts a little pressure on me due to the fact that USA nationals are so close and the qualifying time is coming up fast.  I will continue to work hard and stay internally motivated, and expect great things to come.
